Continuing Education Provider

The Parris Foundation is a Continuing Education Provider for Texas LPC (#1726), Texas LMFT (#657), and Texas SW (#6216).

Crime Victims Practitioner Training

Training offered to practitioners servicing crime victims designed to enhance the quality of service victims receive.  Trainings include topics in victim rights, advocacy, and best practices. Training professionals and volunteers to improve their ability to inform victims of their rights, to assist victims in their recovery, or to establish a continuum of care for victims is facilitated by the Parris Foundation.

Foster Care Service Provider Training

The Foster Care Service Provider Training is designed to orient service providers to the college admission and financial aid application process, college readiness, exit housing options and financial planning/literacy for foster care youth. Training will enhance the ability to move foster care youth toward high school graduation and college enrollment with seamless transition.

TRiO Training

TRiO Training is provided for institutions of higher education and other public and private nonprofit organizations with TRiO projects to enhance the skills and expertise of project directors and staff. Trainings can be onsite or at the Parris Foundation.  The topics covered in the trainings include but are not limited to legislative and regulatory requirements; assisting students in receiving financial aid; program design and best practices; and strategies for recruiting and serving hard to reach populations.

Clinical Supervision

Clinical Supervision is provided to Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) committed to the mission of Parris Foundation. To arrange Clinical Supervision or for more information contact Katherine Bacon.

Internship Placement

The Parris Foundation is an approved internship site for the University of Houston’s Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (formerly American Humanics), Texas Southern University’s Graduate Counseling Programs, Sam Houston State University’s Graduate Counseling Programs, Prairie View University’s Graduate Counseling Program, and UH Clear Lake’s Graduate Counseling Program.
